Labor Gown from Milk & Baby…. who wants to wear an ugly hospital gown to give birth?

This is what I gave birth in. Obviously, I’m not a princess.

With all these photos of Princess Kate floating around, looking chic hours after giving birth, we thought it was the perfect time to do a labor gown giveaway!

When I gave birth to my first son, almost five, I arrived at the hospital in my pajamas and dutifully changed into the labor gown provided. It was ugly, scratchy, and not at all princess-worthy. Had I pushed out my son immediately, I may not have minded as much. But I was in labor for about 26 hours. My sister, the queen of social media, was posting pics of my shlubbiness on Facebook left and right. What I wouldn’t have given for a soft, comfy, and chic labor gown. Now, it’s no yellow and white summer frock with heels, but this gown is waaaaay better than the labor gown the hospital provides.

Now, with my second bundle due in July, I can’t WAIT for the nurses to hand me that faded out, cotton-ish schmata worn by God knows how many birthing mamas. I’ll politely (like a princess, in fact) decline and whip out my labor gown from Milk & Baby! They’ve got several styles to choose from. (see graphic below) I’m in love with the Pretty Pushers Cap Sleeve Transition Labor Gown & Maternity Dress. Yup, you can also wear it as a maternity dress or later, as a nursing gown. It has all the things the hospitals care about (snaps down the back for IV or epidural placement, a place to hook up a fetal monitor if need be) AND all the stuff I care about (comfy, soft, stretchy enough to pull down for skin to skin contact after birth AND not a hideous hospital schmata!)

WIN one of your own here by entering the giveaway below! We’d LOVE to see a photo of you just after giving birth. (unless you are Princess Kate–then go jump off a bridge.) Upload one to our Facebook page or Tweet it to us!

Disclosure: Milk and Baby sent me a labor gown to review for this post. I was not compensated in any other way. Win a Labor Gown/Maternity Dress from Milk & Baby
