Easy Rules To Follow To Keep the Kitchen Clean and Safe

Mama, I know the struggle of organizing the kids’ schedules, packing lunches, and taking care of them when they’re sick. All of that added onto keeping the kitchen safe and clean can create a stress-inducing mess. We can bless this mess all we want, but we need new easy rules to follow to keep the kitchen clean and safe.

Keep Your Counters Clear

I know the feeling of not wanting to clean all the time. However, there’s a secret to keeping your counters clear, and that’s to put away whatever you’re not using. This will help you maintain a stress-free environment with less clutter and more accessible space to fix easy lunches for the little ones.

Clean While You Cook

Who says I can’t clean while I cook this delicious dinner for my family? I want to kill two birds with one stone. As the casserole cooks in the oven, you can also maintain the cleanliness of your kitchen by putting away all the clean dishes and maybe mopping the floors. I think it’s better to get in the habit of cleaning while waiting for food to cook; that way, we get more “me time” after dinner.

Throw Uneaten Food in the Garbage Disposal

If your kid doesn’t want to finish their vegetables, it’s best to use the garbage disposal. That way, you won’t need to worry about gross odors hanging around the kitchen while you’re enjoying a late-night snack. However, if there’s still a foul odor after you drop food down the disposal, throw in a simple mixture of vinegar and baking soda plus an ice cube, and you’re good to go.

Clean Out the Fridge

Finishing leftovers is another easy rule to keep the kitchen clean and safe. To help my fridge stay organized, I like to eat leftovers instead of making more food.

Doing a ton of work isn’t fun. So make it easy by using some of these rules in the kitchen. They’re not meant to be intense, so take one day at a time and follow the strategy that works for you.
