Decorating Tips To Spruce Up Your Home This Year
Has your home been feeling blah lately, but you’re too tired or unmotivated to do anything about it? These are a few decorating tips to spruce up your home this year that require little to no work! How awesome is that?
Paint Walls Neutral and Light Colors
Our walls should be light, bright, and airy. The kids are older now and aren’t smearing peanut butter or doodling on the walls with markers anymore, so it’s time to give them a makeover! Head to your local hardware store to pick out your favorite paint color and get to work. I’m only kidding. There is zero shame in hiring a painter to make your life easier! By all means, if you enjoy painting, then have at it, girlfriend; otherwise, sit back and watch them do the hard work.
If painting seems like too much work, there are a bunch of easy options for modern wall decorating, like peel-and-stick decals or easy-to-apply wallpaper.
Let In the Sunshine
Swap out those old, outdated blinds and drapery for updated and modern curtains and shades. Buy the motorized blinds so that you can let the sunshine in with the press of a button. How easy is that?
Call a Pro To Declutter
Yes, I’m telling you to have someone else come and take care of the annoying task of decluttering your home. I don’t have to tell you how much stuff our homes begin to accumulate between life, kids, and work. It can be overwhelming to look at and overwhelming to think about getting rid of it. Nobody needs that kind of stress; we already have enough. So go ahead and make that phone call and enjoy a relaxing evening knowing that task will be completed without you having to lift a single piece of junk.
The fresh new space you gain from decluttering may inspire you to keep the house clean year-round! Maybe not.
Rearrange the Furniture
Rearranging the living room furniture can help you spruce up your home this year without spending a dime. You and your family probably spend a lot of time in the living room watching movies, television shows, or any screen in general. Maybe you’re reading, but let’s be honest, you’re more likely to be found on your phone.
We get so used to where the furniture is that moving it isn’t a top priority, but you may find that a new layout works better with the flow of the house. It may also provide more space for your children to leave Lego bricks on the floor for you to step on! Make your spouse or kids, if they’re old enough, move the furniture while you tell them where it should go.
