Hey moms, are those stairs getting hard to climb? How about keeping up with your little ones? Aging is sneaking up on us and we need to say goodbye to those unwanted wrinkles. Everyone experiences aging in different ways but the key to healthy aging is accepting life’s changes. Anti-aging doesn’t mean trying to look like you’re 25 again, instead, it means living your best life both physically and mentally. If you feel like an aging mom…. no worries… we can do this!

Anti-Aging Solutions

Even though aging is inevitable we still attempt every hack in the book to try and slow the aging process. You should start incorporating anti-aging solutions into your everyday routine during your 20s. That’s right… your 20s! Who else is behind the eight-ball on this one? Aging is much more than the wrinkles coming through when you smile or laugh, it’s about a healthy lifestyle.

Anti-Aging Skincare

We aren’t following grandma’s skincare tricks anymore. No more tea bags under your eyes or cold cream all over your face before bed. And honey, save the cucumbers for a snack– not your under eyes.

If those DIY anti-aging hacks aren’t giving you the results you are looking for, try a prescription anti-aging face cream that has active ingredients that proactively fight the signs of aging.

Young moms, it pays to start taking care of yourself now because let’s face it menopause is coming for you. Biology is a harsh reality, your toddlers will soon be teenagers and you’ll be going through menopause, and coincidentally enough you both will be experiencing acne.

As we age, skin issues become more prominent, ranging from wrinkles, dark spots, acne, dry skin, and inflammation. Finding solutions for these stubborn issues is very doable even for busy aging moms.

How can Aging Moms Manage Stress?

Moms can pile on a lot of stress and it’s important to release some of that tension and relax. Stress can impact your body in many different ways including increasing your chance of heart disease but also, prompting premature aging and wrinkles.

Relieve stress by taking some time to do something that brings you joy. Plan to get out of the house for the day and take a shopping spree. Read my article about mom jeans before you head out the door, you might be coming home with a pair!

Take time to relax even if that means hiding from the kids to get your three minutes of peace in the bathroom. You can bring your journal with you to write down some of your frustrations, stressors, or some things that caused you joy that day. Journaling allows you to release what has been stressing you out, reflect on it and bounce back accordingly.

Exercise

Exercise is a great way to stay healthy. It lowers stress, increases your mobility, and improves your health and mood. Aging does involve physical changes, and the best way to get ahead of the physical challenges you might face is to incorporate movement into your everyday routine.

One of the easiest ways to get in some movement is to go on a walk. These days morning walks are referred to as “hot girl walks,” so get a cute pair of walking shoes and head out the door.

And then there’s always yoga, the perfect exercise to strengthen your core and pelvic floor because we all know that we lost control of those muscles after popping out our precious offspring.

Find New Hobbies, not Just Stuff for Aging Moms!

Busy and aging moms barely have a minute to breathe, but if you can, find some way to do one thing for yourself. Try reading. An easy subscription service like Book of the Month allows books to be sent right to your door. Enjoy a good read before bed or when the kids are off to soccer practice.

If you want to enjoy one of your favorite hobbies, try one with your kids. Baking is a great way to spend some quality time with each other, all while making and tasting some sweet treats.

Making a point to find time for your hobbies and social activities allows you to find meaning and purpose in your life, and experts say it may help you live longer.
